Winner of UE4 June Game Jam 2016. Procedurally generated endless vertical climber

About

Fahrenheight is an endless vertical climber using procedural generation.
Players must jump from wall to wall to climb higher.
As the game goes on inferno below increases in speed eventually consuming the player.
Players compete for a position on the online leaderboard provided by Dreamlo and connected using the plugin VaREST .

Controls

The game is intended to mimic super meat boy's tight control scheme. In the end I feel we did a good job of accomplishing that.

Pacing

This is a big one. We wanted it to be played by any skill level and still feel engaging and fun.
We found that the slow initial speed of the fire made the game incredibly intense as a player was first learning while still being fair.
As the player improved and got further ahead of the fire initially, the exponential speed kept them from reaching a state they cannot lose while still feeling they're making huge progress.

Level Design

Chunks went through many iterations over the few days. We ended with the current set as we felt most of them were easy to identify and cross.
Some of the tiles did slow the player down if a mistake was made, which added to the intensity and skill required to make it through the game quickly.
